Situated in the romantic valley of the River Tâmega, in the beautiful region of Basto, famous for the Vinho Verde, Casa da Tojeira, which, according to historical references, dates back to the 17th century, belonged to the noble family Pereira de Castro de Barros Velho do Amaral, that served His Majesty - The King of Portugal several times.

The current owner, Mário Bernardo de Magalhães e Sousa, restored it in 1979, fulfilling the dream of his godfather, lieutenant Bernardo Pereira de Castro, retaining its former glory.

Nowadays, this finely restored manor house has beautiful and unforgettable gardens and endless vineyards, producing its own excellent wine which can be tasted by guests. A whole array of leisure activities is at your disposal including cycling, swimming, hunting, horse riding and fishing, providing a pleasant stay with all the modern comfort and utmost privacy.
